The Villas de Jardin are located high up on a steep hillside overlooking the coast. The vibe is simple, modern, and luxurious, with beautiful gardens and stunning sea views visible from every spot on the property.

Guests are on their own once they check in at the owner’s home. There is little to do on the premises beyond relaxing in the peace and quiet, although with a rental car, the villas are a convenient base for exploring the island beaches and sights.

The grounds are dotted with ripe fruit trees, and guests are permitted to pick and eat the spoils. This property is best suited to families, friends, and couples looking for peace, quiet, and a good value.

The Villas de Jardin consists of five one-bedroom and two two-bedroom villas.

Villa decor is simple and modern, with lots of space, white walls, tile floors, and dark-wood furniture and trim in characteristic Seychellois style.

Although the villas are self-catering, housekeeping comes by each day. Bathrooms are large and chic, with stone sinks and enormous glass walk-in showers.

Each bathroom has a large picture window and a sheltered back terrace with a romantic outdoor shower. There are no bathtubs.

The Villas de Jardin feature a pretty outdoor infinity pool surrounded by a wooden deck lined with chic sun beds and beach umbrellas, although there’s limited seating. Tropical flowers and trees surround the pool on three sides, and the view of the sea below is gorgeous. There are barbecue facilities around the grounds as well as a laundry room for guest use. There are also a few resident tortoises that add to the character of the resort.

The Villas de Jardin are located on the northwest coast of Mahe, near the village of Port Glaud. The villas sit next to the main road, with a grocery store, shops, and several small local restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. The beach is a five-minute walk downhill, although swimmers will want to head to one of the larger beaches, such as Grande Anse, a 10-minute drive away.

The Seychelles Golf Club is just over a 20-minute drive away. There is a bus stop just outside the gates, where guests can hop a bus to Victoria; the scenic route can take as long as an hour and 45 minutes, but the shorter, more direct route takes 45 minutes.

The Villas de Jardin rank among the most luxurious self-catering villas on Mahé, with high standards of furnishings and high-quality buildings.

The beach of the small seaside village Port Glaus is located nearby and can easily be reached on-foot. Self-catering is also possible.
